Winter Fest OC

Enjoy the magic of winter at Winter Fest OC with Santa, snow, carnival games, delicious food, and more. Stroll through ten holiday themed lands in the Festival of Lights, build a snowman in the snow play area, and explore Alpine Village where guests will enjoy a snow tubing slide, inflatable maze, craft tent, and food trucks. There’s a tree lighting ceremony every night at 5:30 with fresh falling snow and a parade, with fireworks to light up the sky. Kids will delight in the magic that Winter Fest offers including the petting zoo, bounce houses, and Meet & Greets with favorite characters like Thomas the Train, PAW Patrol, and Rusty Rivets. The whole family will feel the spirit of the season as they wander through the winter wonderland. Winter Fest offers complimentary admission with a valid ID on Community Hero Days for First Responders, Nurses, Active Duty Military & Veterans, and Teachers.

Celebrate the Lunar New Year and the year of the Tiger at this annual Tet Festival. Hosted by Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do, guests can enjoy traditional Vietnamese performances, music, food, and fun. The event features plenty of food vendors, live entertainment, carnival rides, a firecracker ceremony, lion dances, and more!

The Tet Festival is the celebration of the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, the most important holiday in Vietnamese culture. According to the Festival page, “Tết celebrates the arrival of a new spring where families reunite, enjoy each other’s company, forget about the troubles of the previous year and look forward to a better upcoming year.” The Tet Festival includes a Vietnamese Culture Village with exhibits, galleries, performers, vendors, and replicas of traditional Vietnamese villages. There are also several contests to enter, including the Pho eating contest, balut eating contest, children’s pageant, dance contests and more.

Black History Parade & Cultural Faire

The Black History Parade & Cultural Faire is held every year on the first Saturday in February to kick off Black History Month. The annual event is organized by the Orange County Heritage Council and was founded by Helen Shipp. The parade features “noted community members and elected officials, community groups, school and church units, singing and dancing units, city service vehicles, and community members who have participated in the history of Orange County and surrounding areas.” The parade is followed by the cultural faire which includes educational and informational booths and activities, vendor and business booths, youth village and activities, health information and screenings, entertainment, and food.

Irvine Park Railroad Anniversary Celebration

The Irvine Park Railroad is celebrating 26 years in business and will be hosting a weekend of fun with $2 tickets for train rides – the original price for a train ride when they opened in 1996. There are many other events during the anniversary celebration including panning for gold, carnival games, moon bounce, hay rides and face painting. Activities are one to two tickets per person and cost $2 per ticket. Free activities include live entertainment, raffle, and picture stands. Popcorn, cotton candy, and ice cream can be purchased for $2 each. Additional food and drinks are available for purchase at the train depot snack bar.

The Festival of Whales is a popular annual event that celebrates the return of the Gray Whales that migrate off our Coast. The two day celebration will feature multiple events and activities for the whole family including whale watching excursions, sand sculpture competitions, paddle board clinics, water play, art lessons, car shows, educational lectures, live music, great food, kids fishing clinics, and The Festival of Whales parade to kick the whole thing off at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.

The annual Orange County Cherry Blossom Festival takes place in Huntington Beach Central Park near the bandstand located behind the Central Library. The Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates Japanese and Japanese American Culture in Southern California. The 3-day event is free and open to the public and includes a variety of family-friendly activities. There will be over 20 performers and musical groups, more than 50 vendors, a Sakura Night Market on Friday and Saturday, contests and dancing, arts and crafts, exhibits, games, and so much more. The Cherry Blossom Festival, now in its sixth year, was started by a Girl Scout who wanted to showcase Japanese Culture in Huntington Beach.

Swallows Day Parade & Mercado Street Faire

Parade begins at 11:00 a.m.

The Swallows Day Parade and Mercado Street Faire are the culminating events for the three month long festival celebrating the return of the Swallows to San Juan Capistrano from their winter home in Argentina. The parade is one of the largest non-motorized parades in America. The celebration dates back to the 1930s. The Swallows Day Parade is part of the Festival de los Golondrinas. The Festival includes multiple events such as the Taste of San Juan, Kids Pet Parade, Hoos’ Gow Day, and more. The Mercado Street Faire offers delicious food, fun for the whole family, a kids play zone, shopping, and entertainment.

The 1000 Lights Water Lantern Festival takes place at various locations around the country at different times. The Orange County Food & Wine Festival is an annual fundraiser that benefits selected youth charities and programs. The event will also include gifts, products, travel and entertainment items in our silent and live auctions. The venue showcases a collection of high performance race cars, street cars, and other collector’s vehicles and memorabilia.

The Pageant of the Masters is a Laguna Beach tradition that began in 1932. Every year, the community comes together to put on a 90-minute theatrical performance, bringing a selected classic or contemporary artwork to life on stage with live actors, recreated artwork as the set, and musical accompaniment by a full orchestra. A narrator tells the story of the famous work of art, taking audience members through a theatrical experience unlike any other. Guests are allowed to bring their own food and drinks, and guests over 21 may bring their own alcohol. There are also two on-site restaurants to purchase food and drinks at the event. Attendees to the Pageant of the Masters may also enjoy the Festival of Arts event.

The three day family friendly festival celebrates the end of summer with music, games, rides, food, and many more activities and attractions. Wristbands for rides can be purchased in advance for $35 at Crown Valley Community Center from August 1 – August 25. The festival is open on Friday from 5-10PM, Saturday 12-10PM, and Sunday 12-9PM. There will be live performances from Ava August, 4 Alarm Band, and more. There will also be a beer and wine garden.

The Great Labor Day Cruise will celebrate their 38th anniversary this year. This event is presented by OCCA, Inc. OCCA is a Not-For-Profit Organization and their events throughout the year are made possible by the volunteers.
At this event, spectators will be able see well over 1,000 pre-1987 vintage autos, classics and street rods. This event is not only a car show, but a true family event that everyone can enjoy.

The Orange International Street Fair started in 1973 and highlights food and entertainment of the different cultures throughout the world. Participants can sample and purchase food from Germany, Polynesia, Italy, Greece, Asia, Lebanon, Mexico, and more. Little one’s will enjoy Children’s Street with an entire section dedicated to entertaining and educating through games, crafts, and snacks. Informational booths and vendors selling goods line the streets and multiple stages throughout the area provide culturally diverse live entertainment. Alcohol sales will end at 9PM nightly.

The Huntington Beach Civil War Days event is a live historical reenactment held in Central Park behind the Huntington Beach Central Library. Event attendees will see reenactments of battles complete with cannons, soldiers, and horses, tent camps that are open for the public to observe, readings of the Gettysburg Address, twilight concerts, reenactments of political rallies for the Election of 1860, weapons demonstration, and more. Meet President Lincoln, General Grant, and other historic figures from the Civil War plus visit Reedsburg, a historic civilian town, and learn about what life was like in the 19th century. in There is also a reenactment swap meet that features vintage and antique items, period costumes, books, toys, and more. Stay for the Saturday night taco dinner open to the public and mingle with the actors for $8.

Celebrate California’s maritime history at the annual Maritime Festival, formerly known as the Tall Ships Festival, in Dana Point. The 2022 event will include historical reenactors working as crews on the ships and living history displays that include adventures with pirates and mermaids, cannon fights, and tours of the ships. Participate in the tall ship Parade of Sails and enjoy a trip sailing on the ocean, or enjoy Sails ‘n Ales for a craft brewery tasting experience and views of the Parade of Sails. Kids will enjoy having breakfast with a mermaid or learning to be a pirate at Cap’n Jacks Pirate School. Throughout the weekend, the festival will have many activities for the whole family to enjoy from squid dissections and sailor’s life tours to candle making, gold panning, and knot tying. Old World Huntington Beach has hosted Orange County’s biggest Oktoberfest celebration since 1977. The annual festival features traditional German food, German bands, competitions, events, and German beer. Old World is a small village-like area known for it’s traditional German restaurant and fun special events. Enjoy some of the best Bratwurst in town, sauerkraut, German potato salad and much more. Participants won’t want to miss the Oktoberfest Parade that travels through nearby Bella Terra shopping center and ends at the Old World Festival Hall. The parade will include historic horse-drawn carriages, traditionally decorated floats, and the Oktoberfest bands.

Los Al Street Fair

The Los Al street fair takes place on Florista, Reagan, and Pine Streets, and features a vendor fair, car show, touch a truck, kids zone, performances, beer garden and much more. You can also participate in one of two race events, The Glow Run on the 23rd is an after-dark race, and the 5K/10K takes place on Saturday morning. The Los Al Street Fair coincides with the Week of Los Al celebration that runs from September 16-24 and features Race Los Al, Bikes and Bites (September 17), and Los Al Family Day (September 18).

The Pacific Airshow is coming to Huntington Beach once again. All weekend long, viewers will enjoy flyovers and performances from a variety of planes including The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, T-33 “Ace Maker”, the FedEx 757, Canadian Forces Snowbirds, The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team – The Red Arrows, Mike Wiskus Lucas Oil Aerobatics, and Lyon’s Air Museum C-47 Dakota “Willa Jean”, and many more. In addition to air displays, the beach and pier will feature festival activities and vendors. The main seating area for the air show that requires tickets will be on the south side of the pier. Ticket prices vary, beginning at $20 for early bird general seating and extending to over $1000 for group tables. Parking for the event is in the Huntington City and State Beach lots, or farther down at Bolsa Chica State Beach. Street parking may be found in the nearby communities. Beach parking fills up early.

The California Wine Festival is one of the most prestigious events in Southern California, featuring California’s best wineries offering rare and vintage wines, complemented by delicious gourmet appetizers prepared by the region’s top chefs and specialty food purveyors. Guests will enjoy live music and ocean views at the Paséa Hotel & Spa. Friday’s event is the Sunset Rare & Reserve, with live jazz, a champagne reception, and trophy wines. Saturday’s event is the Beachside Wine Festival, which will be held both indoors and out, in the warm Southern California sun with an ocean breeze.

More than 150 doctors, healthcare professionals, and community members join together to provide free health screenings and services for family members of all ages. Free services include dental extractions and fillings, vision services, consultations with specialists, flu shots, hearing tests, physicals, EKGs, chiropractic care, acupuncture, bone density assessment, testing for diabetes, cholesterol, and hemoglobin, mammograms, and pap smears.
