Celebrate Lunar New Year in Orange County 2024

Ring in the start of the Year of the Dragon around O.C.

    Lunar New Year at Irvine Spectrum Center

    In collaboration with the Irvine Chinese School, the Irvine Spectrum Center will host dancers, musical performances, martial arts demonstrations, traditional Chinese gong, and stilt walkers from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For traditional Vietnamese dishes, visitors can visit Little Sister and for traditional Chinese cuisine, Capital Seafood Restaurant and P.F. Chang’s. A dragon display will be featured as a photo opportunity from Feb. 8 through Feb. 25.

    Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure Park

    Celebrate with Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession, special appearances from characters dressed in colorful atire, crafts, festive decor, and menus highlighting delicious Asian cuisine. Guests can participate in the prosperity by adding their own special message to the Lunar New Year Wishing Wall.

    Lunar New Year at Orange County Public Libraries

    The Orange County Public Libraries welcome guests to celebrate the Lunar New Year with branches hosting crafts, lion dances, and storytelling.

    Lunar New Year at UVSA Tet Festival

    Look forward to the upcoming year at the UVSA Tet Festival with a three-day event showcasing Vietnamese culture and entertainment. The event will display an array of traditional foods, performances, and exhibitions including the Cultural Village. Tickets can be purchased at tetfestival.org/.

    Lunar New Year at Fashion Island

    Join the celebration of the Year of the Wood Dragon at the Wood Dragon Garden with a kite painting activity, live calligraphy, and other fun surprises from noon to 2 p.m. Guests are encouraged to visit participating restaurants featuring Lunar New Year-themed cocktails under the Mixology Series: Signature Cocktails. Guests can also enjoy two photo moments with a Hennessy dragon display and a traditional dragon display from Feb. 9 through Feb. 25. RSVP for the celebration here.

    Lunar New Year at Rodeo 39 Public Market

    Rodeo 39 Public Market commemorates the Lunar New Year with face painting, balloon art, and red envelope giveaways all starting at noon. You also won’t want to miss the special lion dance performance at 5 p.m.

    Westminster Tet Parade

    Join the City of Westminster in celebrating Lunar New Year and Vietnamese culture with an array of floats, marching bands, color guards, businesses, and lion dances. The opening ceremony begins at 8:30 a.m., and the parade begins at 9:30 a.m.

    Lunar New Year at Outlets at San Clemente

    Head to the center court to enjoy face painting, balloon art, and crafts from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Catch a special performance from the Mandarin Immersion Program students at 12:30 p.m. For a chance to win prizes, individuals 18 years and older can pick up a free red envelope at Customer Service now through Feb. 17.

    Lunar New Year at The Market Place

    The whole family is invited to enjoy balloon twisting, calligraphy artists, crafts, giveaways, music and performances, and a mocktail bar with themed Lunar Libations from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests can also enjoy special promotions from Market Place retailers and restaurants. Ben Gong’s Tea, JA Jiaozi Authentic Dumplings, and 399 Vietnamese Kitchen will be serving up special bites and drinks.
